Many many of the things I have seen are actually geared to the rising population of people with diabetes, at least here in the states. It just so happens that most foods (prepackaged at least) that diabetics can eat so can people on Adkins, or the LA Diet, or any of the other numerous low-carb, high protein diets out there.
I was on Adkins for about 4 months and lost about 25 pounds, lowered my cholesterol by 20 points and my triglycerides (sp??) by over a 100 points. and it took almost a year to gain back just 10 of those pounds I lost. there are a lot of people out there that should try Adkins or any other low carb diet, but it worked for me.
Though I will agree than many of the things that have come out, are just companies jumping on the bandwagon and not even caring whether or not what they are putting out is actually following the diets. |
