carbs are also listed diffrent between countries by Celticess 2003-11-06 12:26:58
also I had to figure out the "net carb" thing. Which seems to be carbs - fiber = netcarbs. I have lost weight on this so far. Since being on this diet I've had no: potatoes, rice, bread or other grains, and sugar. I've followed it reasonably strict. I ate one tater tot one day out of curiosity as my roommate tried one of my sons and because I wanted to see what it would do. It took me right out of ketosis... however oddly enough eating: onion rings, vegi burger, and regular pepsi left me in ketosis.(go figure I thought the pepsi would pop me out as they had no diet pepsi there). We are aloud 20g of net carbs a day on induction then after that it varies depending on the person. I'm glad I have some veggies now(usually ceasar salad, green salad, or carrots and green beans) because constant meat is kinda gross... Yesterday I got some soy flour so now I have to find some recipes for that. :)

People should be aware tho when buying some of atkins products what they contain. While most have no wheat some have wheat gluten and for those with allergies that is a no no. There are a few other items too such as somethings do have artificial flavouring... something I avoid because again allergies. And oddly I take it the US sells their vanilla sweetened... we don't here afik. They have in their online store unsweetened vanilla.
