...is a bit of a crock. The mainstreaming of the idea is certainly causing companies to think up ways to sell more product, even if it doesn't assist in the diet the way Atkins designed it. Most "low-carb" foods cut out a significant portion of the carbohydrates, but nowhere near enough for people on the Atkins diet to freely add them to their menus. It's mostly a money-grab. Which shouldn't be a big surprise.
