I don't know about anyone else, but I think feet, miles, inches, and anything else that can't have milli, centi, kilo, or other forms of pwer-of-ten multipliers in front of it is far more arcane... I mean really, the foot is based off some king's foot! The yard is based off a stride! I forget what a mile is based off of, but it's also something equally messed up. And don't even get me STARTED on ounces, pounds (pound mass and pound force), and slugs (shudder)!
