They both took the chance, and the precautions both failed, so they are both responsible. Since both agreed beforehand that no child was wanted, he has a reasonable expectation that she would either abort, or give the child up for adoption. He shares responsibility up to that point. If she choses not to give the child up, that is her choice, made without his input, and thus is her responsibility. Also, he should not be allowed to dictate that she have an abortion.
