My understanding is that once the fetus is viable, as judged by the Doctor, abortions can only be performed in the case of life or health threatening circumstances. If this is the case, then the new law adds nothing but fuzzy language, and excludes the possibility of abortion to save the mother's health, right up to the point where it becomes life threatening, by which time significant damage might already have been done. This does not seem like a good thing to me.
