yes, splat-slope-power is a kick to the noggin. I'm trying to work out what the replacement for it is with these new Macs that don't have a power key. The power button is soft, and ceases to work in a lockup, and I get fed up with yanking power cables... so I stick to using the OSX machines (the department is migrating at the moment - some are on OS9, some OSX)
