...are completely variable. Mountains are going to equal lots of pain in my knees, so are right down the bottom, and if the place you're languishing in is Ibiza Uncovered type package holiday hell, then that's even worse...
But the main thing is, who's with me? CCDE (Camping in a field somewhere, lots of Terry Pratchett fans) was great. Camping in Wales with $friend, $friend's boyfriends and $friend's small child was not so fun... even though we'd been sharing the same tent (with one added american) at CCDE...
The staying at home thing would be favourite right now, if I'm allowed to skate in hyde park when it's not raining...
Also depends on what you've been doing recently doesn't it?
In general terms, though...
1) A driving tour of $Foreign.Countries.With.Much.History
I can't drive, so this one assumes $truckdriverboyfriend is taking me. OOH! Can we have horsies instead? Or a motorbike?
2) A luxury cruise in $Warm.Region.With.Blue.Water
We're stopping at lots of cool places, yes? If it's just on the water, demote this one to between the dig and the mountains.
3) A hiking/camping trip in $Temperate.And.Green.Lands
Not too hilly? Cause I can walk pretty much indefinitely on the flat, but hills hurt. Demote to under the dig if it's hilly.
4) An archaeological dig in $Some.Ancient.Place
I'd probably just get in the way, but it'd be cool to watch. Unless Time Team turned up.
5) Backpacking in $Rugged.Mountain.Ranges

6) Holing up at home with good books and food
I'd end up sewing for other people or cleaning, or working... but if 'staying at home' is allowed to include 'skating in Hyde Park' then promote this to 2.
7) Languishing in a resort in $Sun.Belt.Location
This is the sort of thing my parents do. BORING. Assuming however that the pool is good, it's quiet (ie no kids, no drunks) and I have books with me (or better yet, friends) it'd go up a lot. Unless it's too hot. |
