As I was actively using one of these methods that supposedly was 99.9% effective when me and my wife became pregnant with our second child. Whom we were thinking of having anyway (and are very happy to have), but we were planning on starting the process about 2 months after the fact. So, yes, even a risk of .1% is a risk, and your choice to take it or not.
