not sure how many countries abide by that. But in canada it depends on a few factors. If the parents have waved their parental rights, the mom doesn't list the father on the birth certificate, and if the custodial parent never has to be on benifits then the other parent doesn't have to pay. But if they were married, were together for awhile before breakup and the child existed, if the child was on the birth certificate, if they were commonlaw married at the time they may well have to pay by canadian law.(they definitly will if one or both parents ever have to claim social benifits aka welfare)
Morally I'd say it's a tricky question. They both used birth control so it's nobodys fault in particular. But before even doing that despite birth control they should of discussed what if in the sense of do they believe in abortion or not. So they were *fully* aware of concequences and *both* ready to accept them or birth control or not they shouldn't have sex. |
