Question Re: Partial-Birth Abortion by webwalrus2003-11-06 06:37:25
Pro Choice all the way!!! by weephun 2003-11-06 08:06:29
Everyone should have a choice.

If the mother decided to get pregnant, or engaged willfully in acts that led to pregnancy, she has made her choice. I do not believe that at that point she should be given the perverbial "mulligan": "oh, oops, I really didn't mean to get pregnant (even though I acted willfully in such a manner as to get pregnant), I guess now it's OK to completely sidestep the consequences of my actions and choices".

If there was no choice made by the mother-to-be to get pregnant, (aka rape, in it's many and varied forms) then her personal choice still exists as to whether or not she wants to be responsible for the actions and choices of another.

And if it becomes longer a choice of being responsible for actions, but a choice of life or death, then the woman should be afforded that choice also.

Who is to decide at what point it changes to a struggle for life and death is another matter. If all doctors were truly honest and responsible people, it would not be an issue, but then again, if all people were truly honest and responsible, this would never be an issue in the first place.
