it was firmly established that he was neither perfect or devine. He was just a cool dude who knew some good tricks. I think there is a fair bit of evidence that he was not particularly unique at all. Just able to make use of the available tools beter than others. I think it is very defensible to say that any of the humans could do neos gig if they got into the right mindset.
