I've got one helmet in front of me that i have used daily for 3 years, no noticeably foul odours, i use a 'head sock' on very rare occasions, and only to combat against very cold weather. My dad has 2 helmets, the older of the 2 (recently retired from active service ;) ) was used for 5 years, also no noticeable odour. Maybe slamlander ~~is extremely smelly~~ has a very sensitive nose.
