I'm not saying go out and buy it just for this, but if you've already got it in place you can set up resource users, and each one can use their calendars - whenever someone has an area reserved, set it up as an appointment. That way, if someone else wants to reserve it, they can see that it's already being used. Heck, any centralized scheduling program can be used like that.
