Got a helmet, by pecosdave 2003-11-06 06:20:41
thanks for the input everyone. I went with what my first gut feeling was, which matched everyones suggestion, I got a full helmet. It's a Cirus full helmet, basic model. It was the only full model at the store that would fit my noggin, the XL HJC (HJC is what I got my daughter) was to small, but the XL Cirus fits well, the XXL would probably be fine to.

The guy at the store said that it wasn't as good of a helmet as the HJC. I looked at the DOT sticker and said it had to be good enough to have that right?

Thanks for the input guys, I may have gone 3/4 without it. One thing I can say, riding is much easier now. I no longer have tears streaming along me temples when I go fast and my vision doesn't blur from my eyes fogging up. I can honestly say the full helm does not significantly impare my vision. The ONLY thing thats blocked is a little bit in the downward direction, any thing thats in that area is pretty much underneath the bike already anyways. People with less perephial vision that I have do just fine. The sides are fine. Here's to much easier riding until I can get additional transport. I'll probably keep the bike anyways after that, I'm starting to like it.
