...looked that deeply at the pictures from the aforementioned link. Now, that I have... I can definately agree with your observation.
It is indeed quite interesting to note. It's likely that the 'Photoshopping' of such images will continue until the technology develops to create interactive and fully anatomically correct models, similar to the results shown in the CGI film 'Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within", at that point, why have real models that age and change with the years, when you can have a 'Simone' that will retain the same beauty, unchanging for a millenia?
I am unable to recall when it was produced, but there was a movie I had seen some years ago on TV that covered a topic similar to this. In the movie, there was a company that had a number of 'Super-models' always available that would hawk whatever product you wanted. They were of course, computer generated moving images that were modeled upon actual 'living' Super-Models.
Part of the premise, if I recall correctly, was that they supposedly had technology that would 'help' these 'Super-Models' keep their beauty for many years longer then the should have been able to. It involved scanning their bodies and getting a series of voice prints from the models, supposedly for use in the 'future medical procedures'. In actuality it was for creating the CGI models, after the process of the scanning was complete, the 'Super-Models' were disposed of.
It was only mildly interesting so I didn't bother watching the whole thing. All I remember is that it was on one of the 'lesser' network television stations quite a few years ago. |
