The Right Reverend Bush is at it again by Blackbyrd22006-11-19 12:55:59
You know what bugs me? by skeptic2003-11-06 01:32:52
No sadly because he is a Christian by crash_ 2003-11-06 05:46:07
And that is one of those hypocritical stances of the Church. We don't support abortion, but we feel the death penalty is acceptable (well I don't but I am a christian minority). Bush is not thinking alone here. He is simply bowing to the pressure of all his Christian constitents that supported him in 2000. The Republican party has a tradition of being the conservative party for Christians. You rarely see a Democrat in a church (unless its a Southern Baptist church and that is because all Southerners vote Democrat regardless).
Just remember, for all the folks who say that abortion should be allowed, there is just as many if not more who say it shouldn't. Bush isn't coming up with this idea alone, he is only dictating what those who support him most say. When the next Democrat is elected, he will tear all the laws down. And then when the next Republican is back in office, he will sign them into effect again.

I am not fond of Bush, but don't call him evil for trying to stop the infanticide of thousands of children. Now sending thousands of US troops to a war nobody supports, that is another matter.
