| some kernel space threads appear as daemons, true (eg knfsd, khttp), and it's scary how many driver system show up as daemons in the 2.6 series (pretty much everything show up in ps now), but all 'daemon' means is it works without you seeing it (you, know like the mythological things call 'dæmons' that many people misspell because they don't know about dipthongs and strangely the virtual ones derive their name from). |
