Pig vs. swine by aquacooler2003-11-06 01:51:33
same word... by MrTrick 2003-11-06 01:55:10
If you call someone swine, and you call someone a pig, it means very similar things.

If you wanted to be pedantic, the word "pig" is often used to refer to someone who is being greedy, so if someone has just bought a super dooper mega ice-cream sundae, complete with a mountain-climber trying to scale it, then calling them a pig is not taken too badly.

Calling someone swine not only has that greedy association, but has connotations of possessing other bad piggish attributes.
