That is, for the same reason women are not allowed the choice of murdering their husbands (or anybody else, for that matter), they are not allowed the choice of terminating viable phoetuses. They set a limit on when this is still a woman's right on her own body, and when it becomes another person's own body.
Me, I'm pro-choice myself, but I think you need a clear definition of choice. I'd be happier if anybody brought up examples of when the procedure described in the article is actually used and why. Then I could form an opinion whether it constitutes choice or not, according to the criterion above. |
