We use it for lots of things.. A spray of it on the painted surface and then wipe with a paper towel and it cleans the surface great. We also, find it is about the only thing that will remove a black mining grease we use. Without it you can not get the grease off you or your clothes. It isn't a very good lubricant though. Except to lub conduit to permit pulling wires through. A bit less messy than real pulling lube.
