I find that the best thing to do after the burn is just let it heal in the air, or mebbe keep in a cool spot, or in cold water. It heals on its own(I should know, I have burned myself plenty of times before[and one of those times involved me putting my hand on a red hot coal...]) Do you know if the put ice or cold water on it immediatly after the burn? That will help prevent a more serious burn from developing. You can catually prevent a second degree burn and keep it to a first degree(or is it third? I always get the order mixed up...) by putting ice on it.
