I've had both. It depends on where and how you ride. If you go fast, get a full face. If you go with a open face, be prepared for a lot of extra protein in your diet, even with a face shield. Your part of the country has a LOT of flying lunch in the Spring. Open face has a lot of turbulence, even with a shield (why it's no good for going fast).
