try disabling autodetect and set fixed speed either on the computer or switch.

We've experienced problems with autodetect on various switches and NIC cards (I guess it's worth noticing that high priced switches and/or NICs are no guarantee to eliminate such problems)...

That and problems with cables (as trogl already suggested). Hard to believe, but longer patch cables sometimes actually work better... However, try more different cables (and make sure, they're at least Cat 5).
