doesn't match your anecdotal evidence does not mean there is no basis for his claim. It appears that there are other people here who have noticed a decline in Google's effectiveness as well, and he seems invested enough in his topic that he'e sticking around to defend it. He may be right and he may be wrong, but I'd say he wasn't trolling.
