Linux is harder on a video card than Windows	by pecosdave	2003-11-03 10:19:15
at least for 3D gaming. Direct X/Windows seems to do some load balancing between the CPU and the GPU. Linux leaves GL up to the video card. I can dual boot a machine and have games work in Windows smooth that wont work in Linux smooth when it comes to video. On the other hand if you've got a good enough card the game usually looks better on Linux in the end for the same reasons.
