I've been on-line since before the Web. I've seen "search engines" of all sorts come and go. Google is showing the early signs of the same disease that got them all: decaying noise to information ratio. I don't want this to be, but it sure looks like it.
Why is this happening? I don't know - maybe someone at the company got greedy. The same way that Yahoo lost ground when the new management (who bought out it's creators) turned the site into a Portal, and forgot about their roots.

Oh well, same as it ever was.
