What does "Prince Albert in a can" mean? by tonza2003-11-01 22:47:29
  Detailed dissection of a joke; by Blackbyrd2 2003-11-01 23:42:08
Prince Albert brand pipe tobacco came in metal tins, or 'cans.'
'Can' is an American slang term for bathroom.

Call the drug store, ask if they have Prince Albert in the can.
When they respond affirmatively, you respond with;
Then you better let him out!
Implying, of course, that Prince Albert (British royal person some years back) is locked in their bathroom.

This type of joke is seen on a regular basis (or it used to be) on The Simpsons.
