doing what is considered the morally right thing can still smart. Case in point: I knew a girl once who was into me and I was into her. (actually this happened more than once but the other time is a long story.) The catch was that my life was falling apart. Not so much in the sense of me screwing up, but bad luck and other people screwing up my life for me. Since I was going down I didn't want to take her with me. So I tried stop showing interest. Only one problem, I saw her on a regular basis since she worked at a coffee cart right next door to one of my classes. Let's just say foot in mouth disease was a common afliction for me. There are still times when I wonder if I made the right choice. What I've learned is emotions have a logic all their own. Sometimes it's best to follow them and other times we need to ride it out and move on. Knowing the difference is..... who knows I guess this is were experence comes into play.
