I'm very curious as to how you see the difference between having done the moral thing, and being content with yourself. I think you'll find that if you make the moral choice, you will be content with yourself. It's when we do things we know aren't right that we lie awake at night, and hate ourselves for being less than we know we can be. And before anyone else says it; Morals are very personal things. Some people's morals would allow them to cheat and lie. One would hope that yours are more in line with the average person's. And yes, average is also a misleading word.
