I've worked at jobs where I was absolutely miserable. Bosses were control freaks and back stabbers.
Now I'm in a position where I'm making less than $60k, but I'm respected and appreciated for my knowledge and capabilities, and I have a lot of freedom to do my job as I see fit.
I have some freedom with my schedule too. I'm not officially on flex time, but if I come in a couple hours late now and then, or take a couple hours for lunch, or leave a couple hours early, it's not a big deal.
