However, I try to use the same stuff at home that I use on sites. There is less confusion that way. In the final analysis, there really isn't much/any difference. Both have to be reliable above all, followed by simple administration. Since even the lightest weight system will seriously over-build capacity, for home users, especially on modern PCs, then capacity (number of users or pieces of email) really isn't an issue.
The ease of administration is not determined by the number of users. Rather, it is determined by the number of features. The number of features depends on how much control is required to deal with anti-spam and open-relay issues (the bulk of most email security issues).
