Has to exist in the Gentoo portage tree. Preferably somewhat straightforward to configure and get running. And not qmail without a really, really good reason. I already merged it. It didn't integrate itself into the init.d scripts. It didn't even provide a basic start/stop/restart/etc. script. It got unmerged rather quickly (I'm willing to modify configuration files, but I don't want to have to write start/stop scripts for a server unless I absolutely have to). Any suggestions?
