gentoo stage 1 install on my new laptop, that is... it's taking a while. i started last night with emerge system but woke up to a zlib problem. bootstrap.sh version 1.53 fixed it, supposedly, and i'm off and running again. (thanks to chainsaw in freenode/#gentoo-bugs btw) hopefully i'll have a linux kernel by the end of the weekend.... who knows a pII333 laptop on dialup might take a while.

anywho, i just feel ubergeeky bootstrapping my own linux install. heh. and partitioning by hand and formatting by hand (woo reiserfs) and all that. it's fun!
