Solderin q's... by MrTrick2003-11-01 05:10:36
i would do it like this.... by ParityBit 2003-11-01 06:08:27
....ok its been some time that i used a soldering iron...

i guess you just need to connect 1 wire to one of those pins that are allready wired.

my first step would be to desolder the old connection (use a desoldering braid because its sucks the solder gently away without damaging the soldering point as it can happen with a strong desoldering pump)

then use a adaptor to fix the new cable to the connection ....here in germany those things are called "third hand" and then solder it back together. use good soldering tin that has flux allready in it...it may cost a bit more but it is worth it.

please do not heat up the old connection and then the glue the new wire into the hot soldering tin....it is way faster but it is also a guarantee for cold soldering connections and a keypoint on how-to get errors in electronical circuits.

if you are unused to desoldering braids try on an old circuit board as there is still the danger to damage the connection point on the pcb by overheating it (especially if there is a very thin copperlayer on the pcb)

and be shure to measure the connetions each to each with an ohm-meter to clear out any shorts (?/sp) in the soldering area

ok i think that should do it...have fun soldering.
