Gah... I need help choosing a distro. by Sim 2003-11-01 00:52:56
I finally convinced dad to let me install Linux on the box he loaned me. I need a distro to put on there. I do NOT want the thing to be RPM based, and Gentoo was taking to long to compile to suit me, seeing as this box will be used for school. I could install Slackware, but Slack 9.0 was giving me fits the last time I tried to use it, and I haven't tried 9.1. I want the thing to be relatively easy to update, meaning, I don't want to have to download individual package upgrades. It will have to run reasonably well on an AMD k6 @ 375Mhz, with 256K of RAM. Any ideas?
