when has Cathy ever been an outspoken feminist? by SuaveRedSalami2003-10-22 13:52:01
It's her tendency to imagine what's by gdgrimm 2003-10-23 08:30:34
not there.

For example, if a guy on a first date complimented Cathy on her shoes, Cathy is likely to take that to mean that he doesn't like her blouse, and she'd start running around the room upset that she spent 2 hours agonizing over which one to wear, yada, yada, yada. The guy, of course, would be left standing speechless, trying to figure out what this has to do with his comment about her nice shoes.

Likewise, Miranda is jumping of her handle because she's already convinced that this guy won't expect her to be an equal in ability, yada, yada, yada -- even though the guy has done absolutely nothing to suggest he'd think that way.
