She is definately ablt to react to the world around her. About as well as a six month old baby. It should also be pointed out that the husband has not allowed ANY therapy to even be attempted on her. Some of the doctors involved think that she could do very well with therapy. One of these therapies is to allow her to attempt to swallow. The last time this was tried (at that point she couldn't) was over ten years ago. This is not a case where someone is trapped in a respirator with no brain function. The entire family is trying to keep her alive with the exception of her husband.
