and that's what I was calculating. The math was valid.
I applied the attorneys fees according to the page -- the "depletion" of the account could be medical costs. It costs a LOT of money (or rather, hospitals charge a lot of money) for a simple one-night stay... 13 years will rack up the bills.
[need an example? My dad thought he was having a heart attack, so he went to the emergency room and was told it was just anxiety and they sent him home. They charged over $5000 for that brief visit. Imagine if they'd actually given him a bed there and let him stay overnight for observation, let alone if they let him take up space, doctor hours, and feeding by tube for 13 years.]
the accounting, as you say, has been sealed -- to characterize it as "hiding" it is not a nice thing to do without further background facts. There can be several reasons for sealing records, and since I don't know the facts (and unless you're part of her family or on her legal team, you probably don't know the facts either) it's not possible to know what those reasons are.
What I'm arguing against here is your implication that the attorneys are doing things wrong with the money simply because they're attorneys and that's what attorneys do. |
