A rare request (non tech... in human rights line) by Celticess 2006-11-19 12:55:59
This is something that affects disabled canadians. Yes I know online petitions aren't always the greatest but with this one you can print out a thing and also physically sign it and send it in. I've had experience with autism society of bc. They give children some sources but don't really care much on adults and don't do anything regarding adults for the most part. They do focus purely on those severely impacted when probably far more people in the spectrum are in less severe forms of it. The society in a sense see's us as non people here and tho may deal with our families doesn't really much with us... and like I said for adults in general they try to wash their hands of things.(My experience with them had their own supposed "adult advocate" agry with the board and trying to defy them because they told him to not help me by doing his job as an advocate) Anyways please read this form and consider signing the petition. And no it's rare I make requests like thease. What advocating and activism I do I usually don't solicit others on. But I have personal experience with the local varient of the group in question and the national form of it needs a swatt.(I'm not sure how to do that beyond this petition I found from an autistic mailing list)

Anyways here is the link.
