WinXP firewall should be... by Irrelevant2003-10-22 09:48:46
Yes, I know I went away in a bad mood... by Irrelevant 2006-11-19 12:55:59
...at the end of my last post.

I felt compelled to come back because I wanted to know what my punishment was as soon as possible. Even when I was annoyed so badly, I *did* realize that I mostly like the people here, and the general feel of the board, so didn't like the idea of an IP ban or anything.

An explanation of why I got upset? Well, I made the TLP for the purpouses of asking if anyone knew of a freeware Windows firewall. I had the impression that most geeks thought that the WinXP firewall was A Bad Thing, so I could safely explain my reasons without being pidgeonholed into 'computer illiterate moron'. I might even have found some sympathy from you lot. Apparently I was mistaken on all counts.

This was added to the fact that I had been yelled at by my parents on the same topic, and that I'm having a pretty cruddy time (weeks, months, I've lost track) on most other counts as well.

Thankyou to those who helped.
Thanks but no thanks to those who just LARTed away. Next time, please consider if the person on the recieving end actually deserves to be thumped.

Please don't say anything cutting in response to this. I'm rather moodswing-inclined at the moment (for reasons I'd really rather not go into), and attacking this attempt to explain myself would set me off again, probably worse than before.

Ravenlock, I owe you one. If I hadn't read this, I'd probably have just exploded again and got myself really banned.
