There may be no insurance coverage. In which case her husband or parents must pick up the tab. I'd be interested to see how many people want to keep her alive if they have to pick up the bill themselves. (Cynical? Me? Never.) Personally, I'd like to see a professional opinion on her brain functions (with CAT scan) before weighing in on either side. I've known a few people with extensive brain damage and some of them are quite fun even if they can't talk.
