The responses stike me as a bit of an over-reaction. During his med-school days, Frist was doing research using cats as lab animals, and ran out of cats, so he went to animal shelters to "adopt" cats to get enough to finish his research.
He was apparently doing legitimate research, and it isn't like he was using people's pets. Lying to the shelters was smarmy, but wouldn't even be a nit compared to the lies of the average politician.
Oh, and the article was written from a PETA point of view, and demonized Frist in every way it could manage. |
