| all of the updates were done by clicking the icon in the system tray. It popped up shortly after i connected the laptop to the net. All of the updates were completed and the machine restarted religiously after each per prompts. Sometimes it froze mid-update, but i went back and told it to start that update over. I've read about XP freezing with some sound drivers, so ive disabled my sound in hopes that it will stop freezing...if that works, I'll try downloading the updated audio drivers directly from ESS (maestro 3i) |
