Windows Update does seem to hammer the system sometimes, and the progress bar will only display how many updates have been done - not sub-update process.
Not had it lock out the keyboard/mouse interrupts, though. Oh, and is this the IE-based Windows Update you get from the Start menu, or the automatic Windows Update you get popping up from the system tray? I use the latter exclusively, because the former is really quite rubbish (it breaks because my settings say "no, you can't run arbitrary code on my system through a webpage"). |
