Bush is at it again... by Naruki2006-11-19 12:55:59
Two sides to the "dead woman" issue by BloodyViking 2003-10-22 07:11:47
Those sources sympathetic to the husband say that she is brain dead, that he has already spent all of the settlement money on her upkeep, and that he deserves to be able to move on with his life.

Those sympathetic to the parents claim that she is responsive, and that the husband has ordered the doctors not to talk and to bar parental visits to hide that fact, and claim that he will get to keep large amounts of settlement and insurance money he wouldn't get if he simply divorced her so he could marry his girlfriend.

It has been through several courts, so one would hope that medical testimony has shown her to be brain dead, or removing her feeding tube shouldn't be allowed.

Passing a constitutionally illegal bill to override the decision of the courts is a seriously crappy approach to the issue.
