(I refuse to even suggest that I may own a Mac) But it happened during an OS upgrade to OSX. It never came back to life though, the mac 'expert' said that the HDD needle had become bent, very almost slapped him, but he gave us one 20gig bigger for free, transfered all the files and installed OSX (the one we had was illegal, the one he installed wasnt!)
