Wanted: DSL help by McNutcase 2003-10-22 00:06:41
my SO just got her house set up with DSL. She is naturally happy about this, but her housemates dislike having to use her funky setup to surf, and she dislikes them using her computer. Since all the computers in the house are equipped with NICs, we're going to be running cat-5e up the stairs. However, certain hardware needs getting. Obviously, for 4 computers to be connected a hub or switch is wanted, and we'll need something to do NAT as the provider only gives one IP address. We also need to replace the provided "DSL for lusers" equipment; it runs via USB (EW! EW! EW!) and doesn't have any place to plug in an RJ45. Suggestions on what to buy (bearing in mind this is the UK)?
