Sorry you ended up having to make a long answer. I've spent hours working on posts.

Basically my view is, the government should only step in when absolutely necessary. Forcing companies to be clean, I don't see as absolutely necessary. Most people who are very environmentally concerned do NOT TRUST our government currently in power. Since the government changes so often, I don't think it's even practical for us to depend on the government. If there is a way to get the community or A community (similar to the Humane Foundation for example).

I HATE depending on the Government. That is what America is about. You cannot be free if you are dependant on the Government. I think we might just have to wait until there are technologies that allow more competition. I think Solar Power is just about there, albeit it's expensive. I think you can get the Government to pay for part of the Installation. But that would be inconsistent of me. Well, I'll make an exception there. I think the Power Companies might even buy the excess power from you.

Sure Corporations are out to make money. If they weren't, they wouldn't be around. But, you'd think that they realize that if they pollute and kill off their customers (or themselves!!) they can't make any money.
