My web surfing skills saved me $1000.00 in truck	by techi870	2003-08-26 21:40:12
repairs today. I discovered that my truck wouldn't go into 4Hi last weekend. 4 low would work fine. I took the truck into a GM shop today to have it looked at. They told me I needed a new switch on the dash ($50.00) new encoder motor ($750.00) plus $200.00 labour. I told them not to worry about it right now and that I would come pick up the truck. Now I now that the dash switch is fine because I tested it before I took the truck in. I did some googling and found out that the problem might just be a error code set in the computer. So I disconnected the ground on the battery for a few minutes to reset the computer. Once I reconnected the ground everything is working fine.
